frame crafts in general are a lot of fun to make and display
pictures of your children. This particular picture frame craft
is really great because it displays four different pictures,
making it ideal for group projects. Even if it is displaying
four pictures of the same child it is a great to include all
of your favorite choices for a Mother’s Day, Father’s
Day, or Grandparent’s Day gift. |
| Step
1: You will need to cut out two pieces of cardboard
that are big enough to have a 4 x 6 photograph and a bit of
border to go around the picture. This can usually be accomplished
by cutting out one side of a cereal box and then cutting that
piece in half. Another option is to use a small food box and
use both of its sides to get the two pieces of cardboard that
you need for the craft. Additionally, cut out four pieces
of construction paper, one for each side of the pieces of
cardboard. |

| Step
2: The next step is to take a hole puncher and to punch
out four pieces of the cardboard, about an inch away from the
corners of one side. Make sure that the holes are placed in
the same spots for the two different pieces. If you like you
can cover the cardboard with construction paper before punching
the holes but if you do it before the paper you will not be
able to see the holes on the craft because they will be underneath
the construction paper. |

3: Next, carefully help your child thread a twisty-tie
through the two top holes on the pieces of cardboard and twist
the tie together. Do the same for the two bottom holes of the
pieces of cardboard. This will allow the two pieces to work
together to stand up. Make sure that the two pieces can stand
up together once you have secured the twisty-ties and adjust
how little or how much they are twisted until you get them to
stand and can still adjust the angle of them as need be. |
|
| Step
4: With the ties in place cover each side of the pieces
with a piece of construction paper of the same size. You can
help your child secure the construction paper with glue or tape.
Then secure a picture on each side of the pieces of cardboard.
If you are using glue to do this keep in mind that a little
glue goes a long way and too much will wrinkle the photographs
you use for the craft. The picture frame can include portrait
or landscape pictures or both and makes an excellent gift for
any occasion. |
