| This
particular craft is an excellent choice if you are doing crafts
for large groups or are limited on the supplies that you have.
It is quick, easy, and most importantly fun for your child to
do. It is something that makes a great decoration for your child
to have in his or her room and is an excellent choice as a gift
to a mom, dad, aunt, uncle, or grandparent. |
| Step
1: This first part is sort of optional depending
on the type of construction paper that you have available.
If you are using particularly thick construction paper then
you can skip having to reinforce it with cardboard. However,
if the construction paper you are using is standard or even
a little on the thin side then it is a good idea to cut out
a piece of cardboard, about 6 by 8 inches, to reinforce the
strength of the frame and a small strip of cardboard , about
2 by 6 inches, to allow the frame to stand. |
|
| Step
2: The craft also requires that you cut out two pieces
of construction paper the size of the cardboard that you cut
out. If you did not cut out a piece of cardboard again make
the piece of construction paper about 6 by 8 inches and cut
only one piece. If the paper is slightly larger then the cardboard,
which can easily happen if your child is assisting you in the
cutting, you do not have to worry about trimming it down to
fit perfectly. Cut out only one piece if you do not want the
back of the craft to be covered. |
|
| Step
3: Help your toddler or young child glue the pieces
of construction paper on to the cardboard. If the pieces that
you cut were larger then the piece of cardboard you may find
that this helps your child glue the paper easier. First put
glue on to one of the pieces of construction paper and get the
cardboard in place, then put glue on the cardboard and get the
second piece of construction paper in place. |
|
| Step
4: The last step is to glue on the stand for the picture
frame craft and glue on the photograph. Bend the small piece
of cardboard that you cut out earlier and glue half of it to
the back of the picture frame. On the front of the picture frame
craft glue on the picture you want to use. Make sure that your
frame will stand on the correct side so that the picture is
not sideways when you stand up the frame. Make as little or
much of these crafts because they make excellent gifts. |
